MIND

Introduction to Ayurveda

In this workshop, we’ll set our intentions for the weekend, discuss the principles of Ayurveda and the benefits, learn about the multidimensional nature of life, explore our mind- body constitutions (known as doshas) and learn how to interpret your Dosha quiz.

Emotional Freedom
Cultivate emotional well-being and understand the root of your happiness, our core emotional needs, the nature of emotions and how they relate to your dosha, the seven biological responses, conscious communication, and practices and tools for emotional clearing.
Inner Pharmacy
Explore how to tap into the healing power of the five senses: sound, touch, sight, taste and smell. You will learn specific sensory practices to balance each of the doshas and you’ll also explore the sense of humour -using laughter as medicine.

BODY

Pranayama Breathwork
Discover the practice of pranayama including; what it is, the scientific benefits, how it reverses the stress response, and three different breathing practices you can incorporate into your daily life.
Nutrition for your Dosha

Get familiar with the practice of Ayurvedic nutrition including the power of digestion, the 6 tastes, eating to balance each Dosha type, phytonutrients, and eating with awareness. You’ll learn practices for creating vibrant health and well-being.

SPIRIT

Meditation Enrichment

This is a class for all levels, wether you are new to meditation or have a consistent practice. You’ll learn the ancient practice of meditation including how meditation works, its purpose, and its benefits. You will also learn how to practice Mantra meditation, and experience guided meditation. You’ll get practical tips on how to perfect your practice, feel comfortable and how to set yourself up at home.

Creating your Daily Routine

Learn how to create a daily routine that is personalized. The topics include the rhythms of nature, creating an optimal daily practice, doshas and the seasons, seasonal routines, detoxification, and restful sleep. You’ll also be guided in the practices of an Ayurvedic lifestyle.

Dennyse Harris

Dennyse is a Chopra Certified Meditation Teacher, Health Instructor and Total Wellness Coach. She is the founder of uBlossom – a community running 6 years strong-that connects women to self-care tools that support a personal daily routine that is practical and sustainable. The uBlossom team hosts many online events and has been hosting powHERful retreats to fuel your MIND, BODY and SPIRIT since 2016.

Meditation is the tool that I personally use every day to ensure that my daily self-care routine stays on track. My day flows more easily so that I can make positive conscious choices about my nutrition, sleep, emotional reactions and movement. My lifestyle is my medicine. My health is a process, not a one-time attempt, it’s ongoing.
Whether it is eating, moving, resting or spending time with my family, I can make the lifestyle choices that keep me on track and feeling good, no matter how busy life gets!
Understanding U and becoming healthier does not mean deprivation, in fact, I sleep better, I weigh less, I’m less reactive, calmer and I feel less fearful. Mostly I feel alive and full of gratitude for my purpose in life to help people to build a lifelong, practical, sustainable, self-care practice.

Leanne Zdebiak-Eni

Leanne Zdebiak-Eni has owned Studio IPF: Inner Pursuit Fitness in the Comox Valley for nearly 20 years. In addition to running a busy fitness & wellness studio, Leanne teaches a variety of classes including Pilates, Yoga, and Fitness, and was recently certified as a Precision Nutrition Health Coach. She loves helping women learn to live a healthy lifestyle, without feeling deprived or bad about themselves. Her 35 Day Challenges have helped hundreds of women shift their mindset into believing that they can do whatever they set their minds to, through healthy habits, and moving their bodies. Leanne believes in the power of movement and mindfulness to create positive change in our bodies and especially our minds. She is super excited to be part of uBlossom once again and is looking forward to moving with you!

LOON LAKE ACCOMMODATIONS

Each bedroom is outfitted with 1-4 sets of twin beds or Douglas-fir bunk beds and full linens are provided for the beds. Shared or Private accommodation is available. Women will NOT be assigned to a top bunk.

Large shared washrooms (2 rooms to 1 shared bathrooms with cleaning stations) are in all the buildings and there are many comfortable common areas to mingle or read a book. All rooms are simple aesthetic, and take in views of the forest and lake. All rooms are inviting and comfortable. There are no TV’s, telephones within the rooms. 

 

DINING

The Bentley Family Dining Hall

For many people coming to Loon Lake, the Dining Hall is the heart of the experience. Mealtimes allow attendees to gather together (socially distanced) and share their excitement and experiences. The dining hall is a 2 minute walk from the sleeping accommodations and has ample outdoor seating.

A professionally-equipped kitchen and trained staff offer healthy and nutritious meals throughout the day. Fresh is what Loon Lake does best, and the Chefs are known for creating heart-warming comfort food with a flair for the extraordinary. A true compliment to our group and our collective dietary requirements. All meals include coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a selection of juices and water as well as dessert with both dinner and lunch.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy will apply. We have costs already incurred when reserving retreat centres and hotels. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the case that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance.

SAFETY

We are taking the pandemic very seriously, and have implemented a new structure to our weekend retreat experiences.  Overall reduction of retreat attendees, private accommodation options, cleaning stations throughout the property, properly spaced chairs and tables during the workshops, during meal times and mandatory masks in all group settings. We are taking our workshops outside as weather permits, and providing all attendees a complimentary gift bag that includes a beautiful journal, name tag, pen, plus some extra sweet treats!  extra masks will be available, masks are encouraged in smaller group settings. We follow all public health orders, at this time, proof of vaccination is needed to attend our retreats.

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR RETREAT

31 days or more prior to the start date of the retreat: a full refund less a $50 administration fee will be given. This applies to deposits as well.

0-30 days prior to the start date of the retreat: no refunds will be given.

***If the retreat is canceled due to Health Regulations (COVID 19 lockdown) and the  venue cancels our retreat due to a government closure order- a full refund less $50 admin fee will be given.

Yes - Tickets are transferable at any time to another person or can be deferred to a future retreat within the same year. A $50 administration fee will be applied.

After you have purchased your ticket-if you have any symptoms directly related to COVID 19, have been diagnosed with COVID 19, or a family member has been diagnosed with COVID 19, then the regular cancellation policies apply.
